The Hybrid National Licensed Aquatic Facility Technician Course will take you through the book, “The Complete Swimming Pool Reference,” by Dr. Tom Griffiths and Rachel Griffiths. You will need to finish this online portion and sign up for one of our classroom LAFT courses. Call 877-766-5724 to sign up for a classroom course. The goal of the American Swimming Pool and Spa Association's educational program is to elevate the knowledge and professionalism of swimming pool operators throughout the United States and Internationally. THE HYBRID LICENSED AQUATIC FACILITY TECHNICIAN COURSE IS A COMPLETE CERTIFICATION COURSE FOR PROFESSIONAL SWIMMING POOL OPERATORS AND INCLUDES INSTRUCTION ON: State regulations, swimming pool calculations, filter types and filter selection, circulation systems and pumps, water chemistry including disinfection and balancing, water testing, spas and warm water pools along with aquatic facility management, health, and safety. You should receive a copy of the course book within 10 business days of registering. In the meantime, you may want to start the course. It will take at least 8 hours of online time. You will be required to spend a certain amount of time in each section online. If you have any questions about the course please call us toll-free at 877-766-5724. You will have 30 days from the day you register for the course to complete all the online time, chapter questions, state rules review, and final exam. Only the final exam counts toward the course grade. Additional 30 day increments can be purchased for an additional $49 per additional 30 day increment. During the course you will be required to spend a certain amount of time on each chapter before proceeding to the next chapter. You can work on the course at your own pace. You do not need to complete the course in one sitting. At the beginning of the course you will be able to print out the state rules that you will need to do for this class. The state rules assignments can be completed as you work through the material but like the final exam must be submitted before you can get credit for the course. If we are not available at the office please call one of the instructors at 252-339-1585 or 252-207-1668. STATE RULES ASSIGNMENTS - You are required to complete the assignments as part of the class. You are credited 2 hour for completing all assignments. Assignment answers are to be typed into the assignment section near the end of the course. You must complete all assignments. TEST - The required test at the end of the course is a 60 question test. You are allowed to save the test during the test and return to complete it at a later time. You certify that you will not receive any assistance in taking this exam. Failure to achieve a passing grade of 75 will result in test failure, and you must wait 24 hours before retaking the test. You may retake the test at no charge. The American Swimming Pool and Spa Association warranties that the information contained in the Hybrid National Licensed Aquatic Facility Technician (NLAFT) program is equivalent to or superior to other programs of this type. We have never had a certification rejected by a regulatory agency. However, if for any reason a regulatory agency rejects the NLAFT certification within one year of course completion we will refund within 30 days any payment you have made for the course upon the return of the book, certificate, wallet card and a copy of the written rejection. If within 30 days of receiving the items listed we are able to successfully appeal the regulatory agency's decision on your behalf no refund will be issued.
